Has OSAKA changed after nearly 3 decades ?

Starting my Japan trip this April 2014 I did not fly from Bangkok to Tokyo and took a Shingansen from there to OSAKA as I had done in my 1990 trip with JICA.

Welcome to Kansai 

This time I made a family trip. We arrived at Kansai Airport, another Japan international airport in Kansai region, early in the morning and then took an airport limousine from there to JR Namba (OCAT) station in central Osaka. It took us nearly an hour to arrive at the station and at last we checked in at a hotel at the heart of the city. .

Our first excursion is to visit this famous temple with beautiful environment and nice Sakura gardens 

We visited temples, parks, food streets and underground market especially the one at JR Namba station.

These are pictures of OSAKA in April 2014 that I made a family trip to see, eat, enjoy riding Japan Trains and  enjoy walking at the under ground Japan Rail Station or JR.

When I worked at the Office for Urban Development (OUD) under the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA), Ministry of Interior, I got a scholarship from JICA to join

Expo '90 (国際花と緑の博覧会 Kokusai Hana to Midori no Hakurankai^?) or The International Garden and Greenery Exposition, organized as a part of the International Expositions Convention, was the first large-scale international gardening exposition in Asia and focused on the theme of the Harmonious Coexistence of Nature and Mankind".^[1] The exposition was held in Tsurumi Ryokuchi, Osaka^[2] for 183 days, from Sunday, April 1 to Sunday, September 30, 1990. The convention included participation from 83 countries and 55 international organizations and attracted over 23,126,934 visitors.

One of its main activities ^[1] was to establish the annual International Cosmos Prize^[3]

This was a Special Exposition recognized by the Bureau of International Expositions(BIE) and the International Association of Horticultural Producers.

 
Now,in April this year, I have a plan to visit OSAKA again.
Things have changed a lot. Has OSAKA also changed in many aspects. I am going to see for myself. I will tell you more about things I discover when I take this new trip to Japan.I will try to find more best practices to apply to our situation in Kalasin and our Phulaenchang in Isan Region,Thailand.
